Following on from my last drum & bass session 'Lovely Day' is a summery, soulful, jazzy, funky house mix featuring some of my favourite classic house tracks.

Starting with a sample from Bill Withers and using Branaccio & Aisher's 'Lovely Day' acapella throughout with additional vocals performed by 'Q' and including tracks from Norma Jean Bell, MAW, Richard Earnshaw, Kings Of Tomorrow, Jon Cutler, Donna Allen and more!

Soul started playing aged 13, heavily influenced by the funk of the time, his first ever 12" was Earth Wind & Fire 'Boogie Wonderland'..and he's kept it Funky ever since! In the 80's playing funk, soul, acid jazz, rare groove and ragga with influences from Earth Wind & Fire, Incognito, Loose Ends, Galliano, Zapp, D-Train, Luther, Roy Ayres and Grandmaster Flash and then in the 90's moving on to soulful garage, RnB and jungle up until around 2000. He then found his passion for soulful vocals, deep bass lines and funky beats fulfilled within the realms of Soulful Vocal House, influenced by MAW, Grant Nelson, Nathan Haines, Kerri Chandler, DJ Spen, Cloud 9, Chuss & Penn, Knee Deep and DJ Disciple to name a few and played in countries including including America, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Ireland and Germany, recently spending 3 years in Gran Canaria (Puerto Rico/Playa Del Ingles) with residencies at venues including Space, Cream, Chic, Joker's, Fibber Magees and Harleys. With his mixing style, personality and tune selection he generates an energetic atmosphere wherever he plays, receiving praise from the likes of Dennis from Soul Xpress and Nifa from Gruvtoobe. Striving to be creative Soul often incorporates loops, acapellas, and beat juggling into his mixes and live sets which are guaranteed to leave you feeling funked! There is no doubt that he is one of the few unsung DJ's out there that has a genuine love and passion for the music that he plays. It's the music that continues to inspire him to want to share it with others and enjoy it as much as he does..this is what continues to be his motivation.
